Conference Recap
It was so great to see so many of you at the 14th Annual NENA National Training Conference in Kansas City. We had 30 states represented. We welcomed 79 first time attendees with a total of 205 attendees, SSA and TPM. We had 18 breakout sessions and 1069 messages through the Whova app. Did we mention the jazzy Welcome Reception sponsored by our platinum sponsor- SETWorks, the Great NENA Ticket Race, and so many raffle prizes! Since returning, we continue to receive positive feedback and we welcome your comments. On our first day, Commissioner O’Malley addressed NENA participants via recorded video thanking us for the critical role we have in Social Security’s return to work efforts and encouraged us to continue to be active in our partnership. You can hear his full address here. We were pleased to have two keynote speakers who provided insight and inspiration throughout the conference. NENA would like to thank the Social Security Administration, Ticket Program Manager, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Cornell University and many others! Your participation was greatly appreciated! We’d like to extend a special thank you to our platinum sponsor, SETWorks, whose support was instrumental in the success of the event! We also thank our silver sponsors, DirectEmployers Association and SkillTran LLC, and exhibitors, Therap Services, Text-Em-All, and Social Security Kansas City Regional Offices. We want to thank our WIFI sponsor, Skillsource and all those who donated raffle prizes. We know the attendees loved having the winning number! It was a very full and rewarding two and half days that couldn’t be accomplished without the conference committee, board members and NENA’s amazing administrative assistant Marah! After participants left, the NENA Board met to share feedback, recap and review the conference. Looking ahead, NENA will continue strengthening our communication and collaboration efforts with the Ticket Program Manager (TPM) and the Social Security Administration (SSA). We remain committed to representing your voice and advocating for the continued improvement and success of the Ticket to Work program. We encourage you to get involved with NENA’s Interest Areas—your expertise and input are invaluable, and we welcome your participation whenever your schedule allows. Together, we can achieve even more! Finally, don’t forget to mark your calendar for the 2025 NENA Conference in Las Vegas, NV! We’re excited to gather at the Flamingo from September 16 – 18, 2025. Work has already begun toward working on making our 15th anniversary conference an unforgettable event. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to NENA and to the work we do every day. We look forward to the year ahead and to all that we will accomplish together! To your continued success, Amy Wallish, NENA Outgoing Board Chair Christa Nivens, NENA Incoming Board Chair |
