Portia Williams

NENA Director

Portia Williams is a Regional Disability Resources coordinator currently overseeing the Ticket to Work program in Northern middle Tennessee through Workforce Essentials. Her main office is located in Clarksville, TN where she calls home, but she can often be found traveling to American Job centers around the Nashville area providing Benefits Counseling to Social Security Beneficiaries.

Portia earned her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Memphis before beginning her career as a Civilian Employee with the U.S Army where she held the title of Education Transition counselor. Portia quickly found her passion for helping other as she navigated her career working for different Military branches to include the U.S Air Force as a work/life specialist as well as the U.S Navy as a Personal Financial Counselor.

Ms. Williams completed her Master’s degree from Purdue University Majoring in Human Services with an emphasis in Organizational and Social Services after completing her WIP-C certification from Cornell University in 2021. Portia’s plans for the future includes continuing to educate and train Human Service Professional in delivering best practices within the field.
